It’s getting hard; I had another busy day and then I couldn’t find it in myself to do 80 squats and my muscles are fatigued. But I sucked it up and figured hey, no pain no gain. I got to 40 and my legs were dying but I said hey, I’m half-way. Another 10 and it was painful, another 10 and I thought I couldn’t go on. But I pushed through and managed 80 all in one go.

REST DAY!

Not looking forward to doing 100 on thursday. Kill me now.

DONE! All in a one-er too.. If you told me 6 days ago I’d be doing 75 squats all in a one-er I would’ve called you crazy! It’s burning but I could have kept going, my legs are tired though.. REST DAY SOON RIGHT?! 80 tomorrow

My day has been crazy, I was up super early to get across country for a gymnastics display. So 2 hours travelling there and then we’re warming up: everything is good, we go through one of our large balances and bam! girl down, twisted her ankle. 30 minutes before we go on. We managed to re-work the routine and she comes back :) so yeay! It was really fun and we got to watch some amazing performances. Gymnastics display events are big over here, most clubs do them and they all look amazing and they aren’t judged so there’s no pressure and you can do what you want.. tumbling/aco/whatever and dance

But yeah, so I really didn’t think I would be able to do the squats today, but I just did them.. I got to 50 and my legs started to wobble, 60 and I didn’t think I could do anymore.. but managed 70! wooop! 75 tomorrow?

OW! Defo feeling the burn. Still doing them all in one set though so yeay! 60 squats done!

I was sore before I even started, and now my legs are jello. So glad tomorrow is a rest day, and then gymfest on sunday :D!

Done them all! no break whatsoever and only took 2 minutes so I’m proud :).. I’m out of breath and my legs feel rather jelly like but hey ho! Onwards to tomorrow!

Even if I only have 19 days left in the country and sunday Ill be doing gymnastics for the whole day so probably not a good day to do squats.. but Ill try :)

65cm at the top of my thigh :)

Day 1 complete! 50 squats done! stopped after 40 for a 5 second pause but that was the only break :) It wasn’t that bad, felt a burn and my legs feel it after but yeah! 55 tomorrow

Saw this somewhere else and felt the need to post it cause no one else ever really tells you this stuff

My mom never really noticed. She noticed when she was breast feeding my little brother and blood started coming out instead of milk.

Mine felt a small lump, her doctor tried to ignore it, my mom refused to and got a mammogram anyway, came back cancer. They said if she had waited another month or so, it would’ve progressed to stage 3. Luckily they caught it in time, and she’s been in remission for 3 years now. My mom checked herself regularly, and it helped save her life. Pass this along.

My aunt was checking herself and find a lump. She found it early enough that there’s hope. Let’s keep this going, guys.

If I’ve learnt anything in 2013 it’s that checking yourself is one of the most important things you can do for your health. My mum is going through chemo but thankfully got it out before it spread any further. CHECK YOURSELVES!

At airport security why don’t people have their shit together? I mean, I know people haven’t traveled before but honestly there are signs all over the place, (note: old people and folk with little kids are excluded from these rants, kinda). So don’t wait until you are at the scanners to be like ‘shit, i have liquids in my bag’ or ‘oh shit, i need to unpack my whole bag because my ipad is at the bottom’. Today I went through security and in the long ass line i had to wait in I took my jacket off and put it in my carry on, took my laptop case out of my carry on, took my laptop out of the case, took my jewelry off and put it somewhere safe, so when i rocked up at the scanner i was just like bam! done! walked through (didn’t beep, for once!) then was out the other side in seconds. The person behind me, however, had liquids just casually hanging out in her luggage then acted shocked when they were like “you can’t have liquids!” GET YO SHIT TOGETHER!

I am shaking over how BEAUTIFUL this is!

Imagine how easy it would be to travel across the US with high-speed rail!

Imagine how many JOBS would be created!

Yeah, it would basically be manual labor, but that would put thousands of Americans back to work!

MAKE THIS HAPPEN, AMERICA!

I have been saying this for years and still don’t understand why we are so very far behind in public transportation when this could create billions of jobs and make a greater and greener spread of tourism. Congress praises how the East Coast rail system brings it’s Reps and Senators to work, but what about your citizens from other parts of the country? The South? The Midwest?

Plus, the trains that do exist cost equal to or more than plane tickets and take double the time because many lines have shabbier technology than Europe and Japan.

Plus, the benefit of high speed trains in our country could cut so much exhaust forced into our atmosphere by not only airplanes, but the cars of individual people who want to see the country but don’t want the hassle of flying!

Make this high speed happen in America!!!

A friend of mine was saying that there are only a few miles of tracks in the US that would have to be completely redone in order for a high speed rail system to become a reality. Like a really ridiculously low amount considering the miles of track in the US. I’ve been on plenty of high speed Euro trains and it’s just perfection. I have no idea how the US can be so far behind in this respect?

The Acela SUCKKKKKS though. On a true high-speed rail it would take a little over an hour to get from NYC to Providence, my regular route. But the current Acela is only about a half hour less than the actual trip, which is usually 3.5 hours long. I always buy regular tickets ($80 roundtrip) because the regular trains are typically nicer. The Acela is rarely on time, still makes a million stops in Connecticut, is always cramped full with businessmen screaming on their cell phones, and costs double (or more) what the regular train costs, despite it being 2 h 45 or 3 h instead of 3 h 30. IT IS THE WORST. And it’s not true high-speed in the sense that Euro lines are. It doesn’t travel faster than a regular train. It’s supposed to travel at 150 mph but because it’s not on a high-speed line and has to deal with other train schedules, it rarely goes above 65. If that. It usually crawls. When it was first advertised they were saying “two hours round trip NYC to Boston!” and everyone was like OMG. That has literally never happened in the history of Acela. Zurich to Paris on the TGV took me less than four hours…a regular train would be 7+! That’s a difference I wouldn’t mind paying for.

Britain is the same! Mainland Europe is so far ahead, meanwhile Britian is suck far behind - I’ve travelled both regular train DC-NYC and Acela and the service is 1million times better than the trains in the UK.
